We can’t stress enough how important it is to book your bridal make-up services well in advance to ensure you get the best service possible from our great staff at The Beauty Bar. We love doing on-site beauty services including hair, make-up and spray tanning but in our experience the sooner we know about a special occasion such as a wedding the better we can plan to have everything ready when the day finally comes.

Summer is a popular season for weddings and we’ve already started booking appointments for 2013 so if you are planning a bridal shower, wedding or engagement party next summer and want to look your absolute best make sure to book your appointment with us now. In addition to reserving the time and space for your on-site beauty service so you are guaranteed a spot booking in advance will also allow time for us to consult with you on the services and styles you want so we can come fully prepared to do on-location beauty services including haircuts, airbrush makeup and spray tanning.

We do get the occasional cancellation and can accommodate some last-minute requests but those are rare. Spray Tan as On-Location Service Only

The Beauty Bar regrets to inform our loyal clientele that we will no longer be offering spray tanning as an in-studio service at our Southington, CT location. Due to a number of issues beyond our control, we won’t be able to do spray tanning in the Beauty Bar Studio. However, we still offer this service for women as an on-location service for weddings, proms, private parties, bridal showers, Bat Mitzvahs and other special occasions. We still offer our full menu of beauty services in the salon including women’s haircuts, corrective coloring, dimensional foiling, So.Cap fusion hair extensions, airbrush makeup and traditional makeup.

On-location spray tanning is a great way to get rich and even color for a special occasion. If you’re worried that you’re going to look a little pale for an occasion that has plenty of photo opportunities a quick spray tanning session can give you the tone that is just right for a wedding or private party. BET Awards Hair Scorecard

If you tuned in last night to the 2012 BET Awards you saw plenty of bling, some wild hair and enough of Jay-Z and Kanye West to last until the next awards show. Kayne and Jay-Z took home awards for Best Group and Video of the Year while Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce grabbed the trophy for Best Female R&B Artist and Video Director of the Year, which she shared with Alan Ferguson. Of course, beyond the accolades this was a night for style and fashion and The Beauty Bar has its own criteria for judging winners including who had the best hair.

It’s hard to argue with anything Beyonce does. From amazing vocal chords, a slamming body and gorgeous face there isn’t much to find fault with when it comes to the mother of Blue Ivy. Last night the hottest diva in the game didn’t disappoint with a Stephane Rowland one-sleeved gown in a shiny golden yellow with a gold metal belt. This outfit went great with her current hair style that features gorgeous highlights that really bring out the radiance of her lightened brown locks.

Since Beyonce’s hubby is buddy-buddy with Kanye it was only fitting that she would be seated next to Kim Kardashian who matched her new beau West’s outfit with an all-white second-sleeve cocktail dress with a back edged in gold zippers and matching gold stilettos. Kim played it safe with the hair allowing her naturally black locks to fall back easy and match the simple attire she chose.

We expected a little more from shock singer Nicki Minaj who is well known for fluorescent pink wigs, wild lyrics and suggestive dance moves but the new version of Lil’ Kim was pretty tame with a straight blonde wig and snakeskin outfit. Though she took home the Best Female Hip Hop Artist award Minaj seemed subdued most of the night which was disappointing for those expecting something electric.

Actress Angela Bassett scored points with her short and spiky look that was a welcome break from all the overdone long hairstyles that dotted the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Featuring short sides and a subtle but punky spike to the top Bassett looked cool and confident as she strode in on the red carpet. Another memorable do was legendary singer Chaka Khan rocking out some red dye as she took the stage and joined in on the tribute to the late diva Whitney Houston.
