Summer is here, and now is a great time to experiment with a new look. Here are some hairstyles that are becoming fashionable this season.

One popular cut is a short, tousled bob with a choppy cut that shows off the neck line. Jennifer Lawrence, Rita Ora, and Cate Blanchett have all chosen this look. Blow dry your hair with a round brush to create soft waves, and flip out the bottom section of your hair.

A bob with bangs is a youthful look, whether your bangs are straight or swept to the side. Use a ½-inch curling iron and curl two-inch sections in the middle of your hair, using a spiral motion from top to bottom. Leave the ends straight, spritz your hair with a soft hair spray, and then shake it out. Emma Stone, Gia Coppola, and Taylor Swift have been showing off this look recently.

Another popular style is a shoulder-length asymmetrical bob with sharp, angled ends. Separate your hair into four sections and blow dry it straight from back to front with a paddle brush, being sure to make the ends straight. If you want your hair super straight, spray it with a heat protector and straighten it with a flat iron. Add serum to make it shine. Taylor Schilling, Julianne Moore, and Kristen Bell have been sporting this hairstyle recently.

Another in style this season is layers that graze the shoulders, such as those worn by Katie Holmes, Katharine McPhee, and Jessica Alba. To get this look, add mousse or volumizing lotion to wet hair. Scrunch your hair in your hand and blow dry it with a diffusing dryer. Curl the front and back with a ¼-inch curling iron and then shake your hair.

If you have longer hair, you can go for a blunt cut without layers like Leslie Mann, Allison Williams, and Joan Smalls. Apply a heat protectant lotion to your hair, and then blow dry it with a paddle brush. Next, straighten it with a flat iron. Part your hair, use a strong hold hairspray, and apply serum to make it shine.
