How to Remove Makeup and Keep Your Face Healthy

makeup free healthy faceRemoving your makeup at the end of the day is essential to have clear skin. Makeup that is left on overnight can mix with sweat and bacteria, clog your pores, and dry out your skin. You should always completely remove your makeup before you go to bed. Here are some tips to make the process easier.

How to Clean Your Face

Start out by using two makeup wipes to remove your makeup. The first will remove most, but not all, of your makeup. Use a second wipe to remove leftover residue.

After you clean your face with wipes, you should wash your skin with a cleanser to remove any leftover residue. Use a cleanser designed for your skin type. This will help you get your face clean while keeping it hydrated. Make sure the cleanser has a pH of 3.0 to 3.5. This will keep your skin at a healthy pH and protect it from dirt, bacteria, and pollution. The cleanser will also prevent the growth of bacteria and keep your skin firm and elastic. Wash your face with warm water. Hot water can dry out your skin.

Use the right makeup remover for the type of makeup you are wearing. A micellar cleanser or cleansing water works well for light makeup, but you need a heavier formula for full makeup.

Use a scrub that is right for your face. Choose one with synthetic, non-abrasive spheres to remove dead skin cells without damaging your skin.

You need to completely remove your eye makeup. Not doing so can lead to an eye infection. You can make it easier to remove eye makeup by using eye makeup remover pads. Hold a pad against your eye for a few seconds so it can saturate the makeup before you wipe it away.

Don’t rub your face to dry it. Pat it dry. Do not try to exfoliate your face with a towel. A towel is not designed to exfoliate skin. Use an exfoliating product with circular motions to remove dead skin cells.
