1) Turmeric

The herb that gives curry its distinctive yellow color is also an antiseptic with anti-inflammatory properties. In India, it’s common for brides and grooms to apply a paste of turmeric and chickpea flower .

2) Pawpaw

Pawpaw ointment, which is made from pawpaw, or papaya, is used as a cure-all in Australia. It can be used to help heal sunburn, bites, rashes, and dry cracked skin and lips.

3) Camellia Nut Oil

Japanese women use Camellia nut oil to nourish and moisturize their skin. They also apply the oil to treat burns, stretch marks, and to strengthen nails. They often add a few drops of Camellia nut oil to their sake for clearer, smoother skin.

4) Shea Butter

Many drugstore moisturizers now contain Shea butter, which comes from the nut of the karate tree in West Africa. In addition to its hydrating properties, Shea butter is known for its ability to protect skin from free radicals and prevent wrinkles.

5) Avocado

Avocados are delicious and good for you because of their high fat and vitamin E content. South American women also use it to nourish their skin and hair. The peels can be used to exfoliate the skin and a face mask of avocado and honey can help hydrate it.
