Don’t Have Time to Wash Your Hair? Try Dry Shampoo

If you don’t wash your hair, your scalp’s natural oils will come to the surface, which can make your locks look matted and greasy. If you don’t have time to shampoo your hair every day, you have somewhere to go after the gym, or daily washing doesn’t work with your hair, dry shampoo can remove dirt and oil. It can be especially helpful when traveling. Traditional dry shampoos come in aerosol sprays and powders, but foam or mousse versions are also available.

If you know you won’t have time to wash your hair in the morning, you can apply dry shampoo the night before. Spray some on your roots and tie your hair in a top knot before you go to bed. The dry shampoo will work overnight to absorb oil.

If you work out on your lunch break or have plans after the gym, dry shampoo can help your hair look fresh instead of sweaty. Apply it to your hairline, part, and underlayers and then shake or brush it out.

Dry shampoo can give thin hair more volume. It revitalizes hair and gives extra body.

Fine and straight hair can become flat in rainy or humid weather. Style your hair as usual, then spray your roots with dry shampoo. If you have wavy or curly hair, mousse-based dry shampoo can help.

You can create beautiful waves easily with dry shampoo. Use a 1-inch clampless curling wand to make loose, tousled waves in 2-inch sections. Spray dry shampoo on your roots, flip your head over, run your fingers through your hair, and then use hairspray to lock in volume.

If you run out of your favorite dry shampoo or want to save some money, baking soda is a good alternative. Just sprinkle some on your roots and run it through your hair.
