Everybody gets a bad hair day from time to time. Keep some products handy so you can fix common problems if your hair doesn’t look the way you want after a few hours at work.
If your curly hair gets frizzy after you leave home, you need to wet it to restyle it. Keep a conditioning spray in your bag to dampen your hair and reset the curls without causing frizz. Spray some onto your hair and use your index finger to recreate the curls and tame any flyaways. Repeat if necessary and let it air-dry.
To make your curls last longer, set them in a curl pattern while they cool. After you curl your hair, spray it with a light-weight hairspray, part it down the center, twist each side away from your face, and secure the hair with bobby pins. Shake out your hair when you get to work. You can repeat this later in the day if necessary to restore your curls.
You can preserve your hair’s natural waves or your perm by spraying your hair with a salt spray. Apply it all over your hair and then twist it into a bun and let it dry. You can also spray it on your hair and scrunch it from the ends to the roots with your hands. Hold it for a few seconds when you get close to the roots. The heat from your hands will activate the salt spray and reinvigorate your waves.
If your hair loses volume, apply a dry texturizing spray. Flip your hair over and spray it everywhere, focusing on the roots. It will soak up oil and restore volume.
If you straightened your hair at home and then it got a bend, there is no easy way to get rid of it. You can keep a mini flat iron in your desk at work.
If you get static in your hair, you have to neutralize it. Rub a pea-sized amount of serum in the palms of your hands and apply from the middle of your hair to the ends. You can also spray the inside of your hat and your scarf with an anti-static product. This is especially important if you have bangs. If your hair is oily, use a light-hold hairspray instead of a serum. Never brush your hair if it has static.
If you play with your hair and it gets oily, spray dry shampoo on the roots and brush it through your hair. If you need to put your hair up, spray it with dry shampoo, pull it into a French twist, and then spray it with hairspray to soak up oil and hold it in place.
