Springtime Beauty Tips

Now that spring has arrived and the weather is becoming warmer and sunnier, your beauty needs will change. Winter brings with it the chance of developing dry skin and hair, but with spring and warmer weather come concerns about sun and heat. Here are some important changes to make to your springtime routine.

Look through all of your beauty products and make sure they are right for your skin’s springtime needs. Go through your makeup and get rid of anything that is old and in poor condition. Replace it with spring products, including new foundation, a bronzer, and a moisturizer with SPF. Hydrating products are best for spring.

Exfoliating is an important step to remove dead skin cells and keep your skin smooth. Use a body brush to reduce flakiness and body oil to keep your skin moisturized and smooth.

It is important to wear sunscreen whenever you go outside, regardless of the season. If you cut back on wearing sunscreen in the winter, spring is the time to get back into the habit.

Skin tends to produce more oil in the spring. You should always wear a moisturizer, regardless of how much oil your skin produces. If you have oily skin, use an oil-free mattifying moisturizer. For dry skin, use a creamier moisturizer with shea butter.

Pamper your skin with an oatmeal mask. Mix oatmeal in boiling water according to the package instructions. Allow it to cool, spread it over your face, let it soak in for 15 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.

Lips can become dry and chapped even in the spring. If you have this problem, try a protective lip balm with hydrating ingredients.

Hair can become damaged in the winter from dry scalp, split ends, and lack of moisture. Try a moisturizing conditioner or oil to fight dryness and smooth your hair this spring.
